Pompadour is a small chocolatier/patisserie/tearoom in the “9 Straatjes” where they sell wonderful handmade Belgian truffles crafted from Valrhona chocolate. It has a little cafe at the back which is great for posh cake and coffee (served Dutch-style with a side of financiers made of Spanish almonds and buerre noisette) and is reminiscent of the small cafes and tearooms which used to be so abundant in “Mittel-Europe”. Marc took me there on our first visit to the Netherlands as his grandfather used to be a regular.
