A wonderful place to head in summer is the Vondelpark – at 120 acres, the Dutch version of Central Park. The main cafe has lots of outside seating, its certainly not fancy but if you’re cycling through the park look out for a building that looks a bit like a spaceship and you’ll have reached the Blauwe Theehuis. With a lovely relaxed and typically Dutch atmosphere its perfect on a sunny day when locals stop off for a beer or a coffee and perhaps a slice of apple pie.
