Amsterdam’s trams are a great experience for kids old and young. If you’re on a quiet line and you hover by the driver, they might even let your kids press the buttons or make an announcement! For our kids the double decker trains from Centraal Station are also a thing of wonder – a short ride to Schipol or Haarlem on the top deck seems to thrill. On all transport but particularly busy trams in town it is essential you watch your belongings closely. Pickpockets are very active on board in touristy areas and can ruin your day in a matter of seconds.
